color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/biologo.com.br\/bio\/importancia-do-mangue\/\">Import\u00e2ncia dos mangues<\/a><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/biologo.com.br\/bio\/perdemos-parte-de-nossos-mangues\/\">Perdemos parte de nossos mangues<\/a><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Em consequ\u00eancia, estimou Rovai, a perda dos manguezais de Cananeia implicaria uma libera\u00e7\u00e3o de 1.395 t\/ha\/a de carbono estocado no solo e na vegeta\u00e7\u00e3o, e a redu\u00e7\u00e3o do sequestro de carbono no solo e na biomassa, respectivamente em 27 e 12 t\/ha\/a, como detalhado em um artigo publicado em setembro na Forest Ecology and Management, em colabora\u00e7\u00e3o com pesquisadores de S\u00e3o Paulo, Pernambuco e Bahia e da Universidade de Louisiana, Estados Unidos.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-family: 'courier new', courier, monospace; font-size: 12pt; color: #000000;\"><strong>Alta concentra\u00e7\u00e3o de carbono<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: 'courier new', courier, monospace; font-size: 12pt;\">\u201cOs manguezais s\u00e3o extremamente ricos em carbono, mais que outros biomas, quando consideramos uma mesma \u00e1rea, mas n\u00e3o s\u00e3o a solu\u00e7\u00e3o para a mitiga\u00e7\u00e3o dos efeitos da emiss\u00e3o de CO2 porque a \u00e1rea que ocupam \u00e9 pequena em compara\u00e7\u00e3o com a Amaz\u00f4nia, por exemplo. Sob o risco de perder mecanismos legais de prote\u00e7\u00e3o por meio de resolu\u00e7\u00f5es do Conselho Nacional de Meio Ambiente (Conama) aprovadas em setembro, mas canceladas por medida liminar (provis\u00f3ria) no final de outubro pelo Supremo Tribunal Federal (STF), esses ambientes litor\u00e2neos s\u00e3o importantes para proteger a linha de costa, preservando os ambientes litor\u00e2neos e evitando o assoreamento dos rios e estu\u00e1rios que desaguam no mar. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u201cOs manguezais funcionam n\u00e3o s\u00f3 como reservat\u00f3rios de carbono, mas tamb\u00e9m controlam as inunda\u00e7\u00f5es\u201d, observa Soares. \u201cO volume de \u00e1gua que entra na mar\u00e9 alta \u00e9 muito menor do que a que sai na mar\u00e9 baixa seguinte, porque a \u00e1gua penetra no solo e nas tocas dos caranguejos e \u00e9 liberada aos poucos para o mar.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">O bi\u00f3logo marinho M\u00e1rio Barletta, com sua equipe da Universidade Federal de Pernambuco (UFPE), observou outra peculiaridade desse tipo de ambiente: as esp\u00e9cies de peixes que visitam os manguezais variam de acordo com as fases da lua, que determinam a intensidade das mar\u00e9s, conforme estudo de mar\u00e7o de 2019 na revista Science of the Total Environment.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><span style=\"font-family: 'courier new', courier, monospace; font-size: 12pt; color: #000000;\"><strong>Importante e delicado<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u201cRobalos [<em>Centropomus undecimalis<\/em>], pescadas-amarelas [<em>Cynoscion acoupa<\/em>] e outras esp\u00e9cies predadoras aparecem frequentemente na lua nova, com mar\u00e9 alta, quando h\u00e1 bastante nutriente e visibilidade grande, enquanto as manjubas [<em>Anchovia clupeoides<\/em>] s\u00e3o favorecidas pela lua cheia, com mar\u00e9 baixa, quando \u00e9 mais f\u00e1cil escapar dos predadores\u201d, conta. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Ele acrescenta: \u201cMuitas esp\u00e9cies de peixes e crust\u00e1ceos marinhos entram nos estu\u00e1rios quando v\u00e3o desovar. Os ovos eclodem em \u00e1reas com um grau de salinidade, e as larvas crescem em outra \u00e1rea, com salinidade diferente, dentro do estu\u00e1rio, que \u00e9 marginado por uma floresta de manguezal, antes de seguirem para o mar.
