A conclus\u00e3o \u00e9 de um grupo internacional de pesquisadores, entre eles o zo\u00f3logo brasileiro Lu\u00eds Felipe Toledo, do Instituto de Biologia da Universidade Estadual de Campinas (IB-Unicamp). Apesar dos estragos causados, nunca se soube onde e quando esse fungo surgiu ou como se espalhou pelo mundo.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Ao longo dos \u00faltimos anos, um grupo internacional de pesquisadores, coordenado pelo epidemiologista ingl\u00eas Simon O\u2019Hanlon, do Imperial College de Londres, no Reino Unido, trabalhou na coleta de dados gen\u00e9ticos do Bd em parceria com outras 38 institui\u00e7\u00f5es de pesquisa espalhadas pelo mundo. A primeira \u00e9 considerada uma das mais diversas e relacionada \u00e0 origem do fungo, enquanto a segunda \u00e9 uma das mais virulentas.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Ele explica que a velocidade com que o fungo se disseminou pelo mundo coincide com a ascens\u00e3o do com\u00e9rcio global de carne e pele de r\u00e3 a partir da d\u00e9cada de 1930. Essa pr\u00e1tica, no entanto, foi abandonada tempos depois diante da falta de interesse pelo consumo desses animais. As r\u00e3s-touro (<em>Lithobates catesbeianus<\/em>) representam a esp\u00e9cie mais citada como exemplo de conviv\u00eancia pac\u00edfica com o microrganismo. S\u00e3o geralmente verdes ou de cor bronzeada, com castanho escuro, verde escuro, ou negro e uma parte inferior amarela ou branca, que varia acentuadamente na \u00e9poca do acasalamento.&lt;\/p&gt;\n&lt;p&gt;O esqueleto de uma r\u00e3 adulta consiste de osso e cartilagem hialina, calcificada. A r\u00e3-touro ainda \u00e9 mais encontrada em ran\u00e1rios comerciais, mas j\u00e1 se incorporou ao ambiente local.
