Isso significa que sua eventual extin\u00e7\u00e3o afetaria uma diversidade de esp\u00e9cies vegetais, assim como o desaparecimento de qualquer uma dessas flores representaria um empobrecimento em sua dieta.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">A maioria das comunidades estudadas est\u00e1 na regi\u00e3o norte da cordilheira dos Andes, no Brasil (<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/biologo.com.br\/bio\/mata-atlantica\/\">Mata Atl\u00e2ntica<\/a><\/span> e <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/biologo.com.br\/bio\/cerrado\/\">Cerrado<\/a><\/span>), em pa\u00edses da Am\u00e9rica Central e no M\u00e9xico. O banco de dados compilado pelo estudo inclui as redes de intera\u00e7\u00f5es entre aves e plantas e a frequ\u00eancia com que ocorrem, e foi usado para alimentar simula\u00e7\u00f5es que mostravam o risco de extin\u00e7\u00e3o das esp\u00e9cies e de acontecer em cadeia, tamb\u00e9m chamada de coextin\u00e7\u00e3o, al\u00e9m de prever o potencial de coloniza\u00e7\u00e3o de novas \u00e1reas pelas esp\u00e9cies existentes.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'courier new', courier, monospace; color: #ffffff;\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\"> \u201cA coloniza\u00e7\u00e3o n\u00e3o compensou a extin\u00e7\u00e3o, especialmente nas comunidades brasileiras mais vulner\u00e1veis\u201d, ressalta o ec\u00f3logo Pietro Maruyama, da Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais, coautor do estudo.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: 'courier new', courier, monospace; font-size: 12pt;\">Am\u00e9rica do Norte<\/span><\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Na Am\u00e9rica do Norte, as aves mais afetadas pelas mudan\u00e7as clim\u00e1ticas ocupam um lugar marginal nas redes de rela\u00e7\u00f5es ecol\u00f3gicas \u2013 em alguns casos, se relacionam com uma \u00fanica esp\u00e9cie. Se elas desaparecerem, prejudicar\u00e3o poucos tipos de plantas, causando perdas pontuais na comunidade.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u201cA Am\u00e9rica do Norte passou por varia\u00e7\u00f5es maiores de temperatura durante as glacia\u00e7\u00f5es ao longo dos \u00faltimos 2 milh\u00f5es de anos, enquanto a temperatura na Am\u00e9rica do Sul foi mais est\u00e1vel\u201d, lembra o ec\u00f3logo dinamarqu\u00eas Bo Dalsgaard, da Universidade de Copenhague e coordenador do estudo. Para o pesquisador, isso talvez explique por que as comunidades do norte est\u00e3o mais preparadas para o aquecimento global. No Brasil, as comunidades teriam evolu\u00eddo juntas por mais tempo, permitindo que as esp\u00e9cies de plantas e de beija-flores se adaptassem para interagir mais umas com as outras. \u201cN\u00e3o havia como prever essa diferen\u00e7a entre as am\u00e9ricas do Norte e do Sul antes das simula\u00e7\u00f5es\u201d, surpreende-se o pesquisador.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"font-family: 'courier new', courier, monospace; font-size: 12pt; color: #000000;\"><strong>Andes<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Segundo o estudo, o local mais protegido do aquecimento global \u00e9 a cordilheira dos Andes, que abriga a maior diversidade de beija-flores do continente. Conforme a temperatura aumenta, as aves poder\u00e3o se proteger em regi\u00f5es mais altas, onde o clima \u00e9 mais ameno. Com mais de 300 esp\u00e9cies exclusivas das am\u00e9ricas, a maioria vivendo nos tr\u00f3picos e na Am\u00e9rica do sul, os beija-flores s\u00e3o um dos grupos mais diversos de aves.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u201cO trabalho vai al\u00e9m de analisar as mudan\u00e7as na distribui\u00e7\u00e3o das esp\u00e9cies, incluindo na previs\u00e3o o efeito das intera\u00e7\u00f5es entre os seres vivos\u201d, acentua o ec\u00f3logo Leonardo Miranda, da Universidade Federal de Roraima, que n\u00e3o participou da pesquisa. Sem isso, a perda de esp\u00e9cies poderia ser subestimada.
