Este processo faz com que as popula\u00e7\u00f5es de organismos mudem e se diversifiquem ao longo do tempo.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 14pt;\">O tema\u00a0tamb\u00e9m \u00e9 conhecido como evolu\u00e7\u00e3o biol\u00f3gica, gen\u00e9tica ou org\u00e2nica.\u00a0Do ponto de vista gen\u00e9tico, a evolu\u00e7\u00e3o pode ser definida como qualquer altera\u00e7\u00e3o no n\u00famero de genes ou na frequ\u00eancia dos alelos de um ou um conjunto de genes em uma popula\u00e7\u00e3o e ao longo das gera\u00e7\u00f5es.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 24pt; font-family: 'courier new', courier, monospace;\">Evolu\u00e7\u00e3o biol\u00f3gica<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: 18pt; font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\"><strong>A<\/strong><\/span> evolu\u00e7\u00e3o influencia cada aspecto da estrutura e comportamento dos organismos. O mais proeminente \u00e9 o conjunto de adapta\u00e7\u00f5es f\u00edsicas e comportamentais que resultam do processo de sele\u00e7\u00e3o natural. A longo prazo, a evolu\u00e7\u00e3o produz novas esp\u00e9cies, por meio da divis\u00e3o de popula\u00e7\u00f5es ancestrais entre novos grupos que se tornam incapazes de intercruzarem.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Muta\u00e7\u00f5es em genes podem produzir caracter\u00edsticas novas ou alterar as que j\u00e1 existiam, resultando no aparecimento de diferen\u00e7as heredit\u00e1rias entre organismos. A deriva gen\u00e9tica reflete o papel que o acaso desempenha na probabilidade de um determinado indiv\u00edduo sobreviver e reproduzir-se. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Na d\u00e9cada de 1930, a sele\u00e7\u00e3o natural darwiniana foi combinada com a hereditariedade mendeliana em uma s\u00edntese moderna, onde foi feita a liga\u00e7\u00e3o entre as unidades de evolu\u00e7\u00e3o &#8211; os genes &#8211; e o mecanismo central de evolu\u00e7\u00e3o &#8211; fundado na deriva gen\u00e9tica e sele\u00e7\u00e3o natural.
