Esta rela\u00e7\u00e3o j\u00e1 era conhecida, mas pensava-se que as algas n\u00e3o entravam nas c\u00e9lulas do anf\u00edbio. \u00c9 o 1\u00ba\u00a0caso descrito de um organismo fotossint\u00e9tico a viver dentro de c\u00e9lulas de um vertebrado.<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">A defini\u00e7\u00e3o de simbiose tem variado entre os cientistas. Alguns defendem que o termo &#8220;simbiose&#8221; s\u00f3 deve referir-se a mutualismos persistentes, enquanto outros acharam que deve aplicar-se a qualquer tipo de intera\u00e7\u00e3o biol\u00f3gica persistente (mutualismo, comensalismo, ou at\u00e9 rela\u00e7\u00f5es parasit\u00e1rias).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Todavia, dizemos hoje que o mutualismo \u00e9 uma rela\u00e7\u00e3o entre indiv\u00edduos de esp\u00e9cies diferentes, em que ambos s\u00e3o beneficiados. A simbiose \u00e9 uma rela\u00e7\u00e3o entre indiv\u00edduos de esp\u00e9cies diferentes, em que ambos s\u00e3o beneficiados e em que ambos precisam um do outro para sobreviver.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Um\u00a0exemplo \u00e9 a rela\u00e7\u00e3o entre os cupins e a triconinfa. Os cupins, ao comerem a madeira, n\u00e3o conseguem digerir a celulose, mas em seu intestino vivem os protozo\u00e1rios, capazes de digeri-la. Os protozo\u00e1rios, ao digerirem a celulose, permitem que os cupins aproveitem essa subst\u00e2ncia como alimento. Dessa forma, os cupins atuam como fonte indireta de alimentos e como \u201cresid\u00eancia\u201d para os protozo\u00e1rios.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 12pt;\"><strong>Protocoopera\u00e7\u00e3o<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">Na protocoopera\u00e7\u00e3o, embora as duas esp\u00e9cies envolvidas sejam beneficiadas, elas podem viver separadas, sem que isso as prejudique muito.<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Um exemplo cl\u00e1ssico de protocoopera\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e9 a associa\u00e7\u00e3o entre a an\u00eamona-do-mar e o paguro, um crust\u00e1ceo semelhante ao caranguejo, tamb\u00e9m conhecido como bernardo-eremita ou ermit\u00e3o. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">O paguro tem o corpo mole e costuma ocupar o interior de conchas abandonadas de gastr\u00f3podes. Dessa uni\u00e3o, surge o benef\u00edcio m\u00fatuo: a an\u00eamona possui c\u00e9lulas urticantes, que afugentam os predadores do paguro, e este, ao se deslocar, possibilita \u00e0 an\u00eamona uma melhor explora\u00e7\u00e3o do espa\u00e7o, em busca de alimento.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">A an\u00eamona tamb\u00e9m se associa ao Peixe-palha\u00e7o na\u00a0protocoopera\u00e7\u00e3o. As an\u00eamonas fornecem prote\u00e7\u00e3o a esses peixes.
