Muito estudada pelos bi\u00f3logos por suas caracter\u00edsticas \u00fanicas.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; color: #000000;\">Durante muito tempo as dros\u00f3filas foram conhecidas como &#8216;moscas-das-frutas&#8217;, entretanto essa nomenclatura j\u00e1 n\u00e3o \u00e9 mais adequada por referir-se mais apropriadamente \u00e0s moscas da fam\u00edlia Tephritidae, que causam preju\u00edzo aos fruticultores.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-family: 'courier new', courier, monospace; font-size: 24pt; color: #000000;\"><strong><em>Drosophila melanogaster<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> As dros\u00f3filas se alimentam de leveduras em frutos j\u00e1 ca\u00eddos em in\u00edcio de decomposi\u00e7\u00e3o e, portanto, n\u00e3o causam preju\u00edzo na agricultura.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00c9 utilizada em in\u00fameros estudos gen\u00e9ticos por apresentar cromossomas &#8220;gigantes&#8221;, formados por v\u00e1rias multiplica\u00e7\u00f5es dos filamentos da eucromatina, facilitando sua observa\u00e7\u00e3o ao microsc\u00f3pio. Por exemplo, o alelo para olhos brancos representa-se por w (de white). Quando este locus \u00e9 ocupado pelo alelo da forma selvagem, este representa-se pela mesma letra afetada do sinal + (w+).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Se nas experi\u00eancias de <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/biologo.com.br\/bio\/documentario-mendel-e-a-ervilha\/\">Mendel<\/a><\/span> n\u00e3o foi relevante que determinado fen\u00f3tipo pertencesse \u00e0 f\u00eamea ou ao macho, isto \u00e9, efetuar o cruzamento direto ou o cruzamento rec\u00edproco n\u00e3o interferiria nos resultados, o mesmo n\u00e3o se passou nos resultados obtidos por Morgan.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Assim, cruzou entre si indiv\u00edduos pertencentes a linhas puras, uns com olhos brancos e outro com olhos vermelhos (selvagem); mas n\u00e3o s\u00f3 efetuou o cruzamento direto (f\u00eamea de olhos vermelhos com macho de olhos brancos) como o cruzamento rec\u00edproco (f\u00eamea de olhos brancos com macho de olhos vermelhos). O alelo que condiciona a cor selvagem (w+) \u00e9 dominante em rela\u00e7\u00e3o ao alelo que condiciona a cor branca dos olhos (w).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">No primeiro cruzamento os indiv\u00edduos apresentam todos os olhos vermelhos, sendo 50% de f\u00eameas e 50% de machos. Estes resultados est\u00e3o de acordo com os previstos por Mendel, evidenciando-se o alelo vermelho como dominante. Por\u00e9m, no cruzamento rec\u00edproco, as f\u00eameas tem todas olhos vermelhos e os machos t\u00eam todos olhos brancos. Os indiv\u00edduos que apresentam dois cromossomas sexuais id\u00eanticos dizem-se homogam\u00e9ticos e os que apresentam dois cromossomas sexuais diferentes entre si dizem-se heterogam\u00e9ticos. As f\u00eameas de dros\u00f3fila possuem dois cromossomas X, ao passo que os machos possuem os mesmos autossomas mas um cromossoma X e um cromossoma Y. O sexo heterogam\u00e9tico \u00e9, pois, o sexo masculino.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Todavia, a determina\u00e7\u00e3o do sexo em dros\u00f3filas n\u00e3o \u00e9 devido \u00e0 presen\u00e7a do cromossomo Y como na esp\u00e9cie humana e, sim, pela quantidade de cromossomos X divida pelo n\u00famero do conjunto autoss\u00f4mico (2n), de modo que o quociente sendo 1, o indiv\u00edduo \u00e9 f\u00eamea, caso seja diferente de 1, o indiv\u00edduo \u00e9 macho.
