Trata-se de uma emba\u00faba in\u00e9dita, distinta de suas cong\u00eaneres n\u00e3o apenas por caracter\u00edsticas morfol\u00f3gicas, mas tamb\u00e9m por sua distribui\u00e7\u00e3o geogr\u00e1fica.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignright size-large is-resized\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/media.tenor.com\/sX9Q4c0ZaF4AAAAM\/climbing-a-tree-sloth.gif?w=800&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" style=\"width:139px;height:auto\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Emba\u00fabas s\u00e3o alimento para animais, como pregui\u00e7as<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-ebe34634aced4f01da9c0d30ff44b8ec\">Divulgada no final de mar\u00e7o, a descoberta ocorreu durante uma pesquisa realizada por Daniel Praia Portela de Aguiar, engenheiro florestal e agente t\u00e9cnico do Minist\u00e9rio P\u00fablico do Estado do Amazonas. A pesquisa come\u00e7ou em 2017, em parceria com o colega Layon Demarchi, com o objetivo de elaborar um livro sobre a hist\u00f3ria natural e a identifica\u00e7\u00e3o das emba\u00fabas de Manaus. Ap\u00f3s an\u00e1lises em campo, foram encontrados padr\u00f5es nas coletas de Cecropia que diferiam de outras emba\u00fabas. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><a href=\"https:\/\/biologo.com.br\/bio\/fantastica-flora-brasileira\/\">Fant\u00e1stica Flora Brasileira<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><a href=\"https:\/\/biologo.com.br\/bio\/regeneracao-florestal\/\">Regenera\u00e7\u00e3o florestal<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><a href=\"https:\/\/biologo.com.br\/bio\/abelhas-sem-ferrao-como-polinizadores\/\">Abelhas sem ferr\u00e3o como polinizadores<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-c3da49dfb4700b5e2cbf0a277a56617d\">Assim sendo, as amostras foram enviadas ao bot\u00e2nico Andr\u00e9 Gaglioti, do <a href=\"https:\/\/www.infraestruturameioambiente.sp.gov.br\/institutodebotanica\/\">Instituto de Bot\u00e2nica de S\u00e3o Paulo<\/a>, que confirmou que a planta era de uma esp\u00e9cie distinta tamb\u00e9m do ponto de vista molecular. A an\u00e1lise taxon\u00f4mica incluiu compara\u00e7\u00f5es morfol\u00f3gicas detalhadas, coleta de amostras, estudos gen\u00e9ticos e uma extensa revis\u00e3o de herb\u00e1rios. Ao final, n\u00e3o restaram d\u00favidas: tratava-se de uma esp\u00e9cie nova, pertencente ao g\u00eanero <em>Cecropia<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size\"><em>Uma nova esp\u00e9cie de emba\u00faba<\/em><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-dec4a1cda61d7a19f873fbff78fe4140\">A descoberta \u00e9 fruto de uma expedi\u00e7\u00e3o bot\u00e2nica realizada nas proximidades de Manaus, onde pesquisadores do Instituto Nacional de Pesquisas da Amaz\u00f4nia (INPA) exploravam \u00e1reas de floresta de terra firme. As formigas perfuram regi\u00f5es espec\u00edficas do caule para construir seus ninhos, reproduzindo-se no interior da planta. Em contrapartida, atuam como defensoras naturais, protegendo a \u00e1rvore contra herb\u00edvoros e esp\u00e9cies concorrentes. Al\u00e9m disso, seus dejetos funcionam como fonte adicional de nutrientes, beneficiando diretamente o desenvolvimento da planta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-color has-link-color has-medium-font-size wp-elements-8746a24c75ae46ddde5255f555b164b9\" style=\"color:#5e0303\"><strong><em>Cecropia manauara <\/em><\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-6f16d5a760598e9b95e4af863c865686\">Por fim, O nome <em>manauara<\/em> foi escolhido em homenagem \u00e0 cidade de Manaus, ber\u00e7o da esp\u00e9cie e s\u00edmbolo da conex\u00e3o entre urbaniza\u00e7\u00e3o e floresta. A nomenclatura carrega tamb\u00e9m um tributo \u00e0 resist\u00eancia amaz\u00f4nica, \u00e0 riqueza biol\u00f3gica da regi\u00e3o e ao papel vital da ci\u00eancia brasileira na prote\u00e7\u00e3o dos ecossistemas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-fd6646f4be16bef77037b4341f7a9647\">A <em>Cecropia manauara<\/em> pode alcan\u00e7ar at\u00e9 15 metros de altura, com tronco oco e liso, t\u00edpico das emba\u00fabas, frequentemente habitado por formigas do g\u00eanero <em>Azteca<\/em>. Essa associa\u00e7\u00e3o simbi\u00f3tica \u00e9 um dos tra\u00e7os marcantes do grupo: as formigas encontram abrigo e alimento, e em troca protegem a planta contra herb\u00edvoros.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size\">Import\u00e2ncia das Emba\u00fabas<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-16187cf44f7bf33bae2ccbc8c99d0127\">Em virtude de suas muitas liga\u00e7\u00f5es com diversos organismos da floresta, as plantas do g\u00eanero Cecropia tem enorme import\u00e2ncia Ecol\u00f3gica. As emba\u00fabas tem prefer\u00eancia por \u00e1reas de transi\u00e7\u00e3o entre florestas prim\u00e1rias e secund\u00e1rias. H\u00e1 registros dessa ave nos estados do Mato Grosso, Goi\u00e1s, Minas Gerais, S\u00e3o Paulo, Paran\u00e1, Rio Grande do Sul, al\u00e9m do M\u00e9xico, Argentina, Col\u00f4mbia, Bol\u00edvia. Em Manaus, a forma mais comum de utiliza\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e9 por meio do ch\u00e1 preparado com suas folhas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-ac0434bd874522831c04f9f02ec9c28d\">A saber, emba\u00fabas apresentam uma impressionante variedade de aplica\u00e7\u00f5es medicinais, que v\u00e3o desde o tratamento de feridas at\u00e9 fun\u00e7\u00f5es mais complexas, como a\u00e7\u00e3o hipotensora e antidepressiva. Diversos desses usos populares v\u00eam sendo confirmados por meio de estudos laboratoriais publicados em artigos cient\u00edficos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-cdeb5d46fcf7449783a85bbd42dff27b\">Em s\u00edntese, a <em>Cecropia manauara<\/em> representa mais do que uma nova p\u00e1gina na bot\u00e2nica. Ela \u00e9 um lembrete de que a Amaz\u00f4nia ainda guarda segredos, mesmo ap\u00f3s s\u00e9culos de explora\u00e7\u00e3o. Cada nova esp\u00e9cie descoberta refor\u00e7a a import\u00e2ncia da conserva\u00e7\u00e3o e da pesquisa cont\u00ednua nos biomas tropicais.
