Suas ra\u00edzes, ao se aprofundarem na terra, contribuem significativamente para a absor\u00e7\u00e3o das \u00e1guas pluviais \u2014 uma \u00fanica \u00e1rvore adulta pode absorver at\u00e9 250 litros de \u00e1gua por dia \u2014, enquanto simultaneamente consolidam o solo, prevenindo deslizamentos e a perda de nutrientes por lixivia\u00e7\u00e3o. A copa das \u00e1rvores tamb\u00e9m atua como uma barreira f\u00edsica contra o impacto direto das gotas de chuva, reduzindo a erosividade superficial. Inicialmente, serviram como mat\u00e9ria-prima essencial para a constru\u00e7\u00e3o de abrigos, ferramentas, armas e, mais tarde, para a obten\u00e7\u00e3o de energia na forma de lenha. Com o avan\u00e7o das t\u00e9cnicas de beneficiamento, passaram a fornecer produtos diversos como a celulose \u2014 base para a fabrica\u00e7\u00e3o de papel \u2014, a corti\u00e7a, resinas, l\u00e1tex (para a produ\u00e7\u00e3o de borracha), gomas, taninos, al\u00e9m de frutos comest\u00edveis e plantas medicinais de valor inestim\u00e1vel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">\u00c1rvore \u00e9 um vegetal de tronco lenhoso cujos ramos s\u00f3 saem a certa altura do solo. Em termos biol\u00f3gicos \u00e9 uma planta permanentemente lenhosa de grande porte, com ra\u00edzes pivotantes, caule lenhoso do tipo tronco, que forma ramos bem acima do n\u00edvel do solo e que se estendem at\u00e9 o \u00e1pice da raiz<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">Os arbustos, al\u00e9m do menor porte, podem exibir ramos desde junto ao solo. No entanto, a maior folha conhecida em \u00e1rea pertence \u00e0 monocotiled\u00f4nea <em>Alocasia macrorrhiza<\/em>, que pode apresentar l\u00e2minas foliares com mais de 3 metros quadrados.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-5cf685f29093b90e8c599dd9b40126c0\">Em suma, as \u00e1rvores s\u00e3o pilares de estabilidade ecol\u00f3gica e bem-estar social.
