Embora seus troncos individuais vivam &#8220;apenas&#8221; algumas centenas de anos, o sistema radicular conectado se mant\u00e9m por mais de 80.000 anos (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.researchgate.net\/scientific-contributions\/Jennifer-DeWoody-2234810402?_tp=eyJjb250ZXh0Ijp7ImZpcnN0UGFnZSI6InB1YmxpY2F0aW9uIiwicGFnZSI6InB1YmxpY2F0aW9uIn19\">DeWood<\/a>y et al., 2019). Esse fen\u00f4meno revela que a longevidade vegetal pode assumir diferentes formas, tanto em indiv\u00edduos isolados quanto em col\u00f4nias gen\u00e9ticas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color has-medium-font-size wp-elements-3f452ece9297767f10288bd65f3d16ba wp-block-paragraph\">Portanto, essas \u00e1rvores funcionam como arquivos vivos, registrando mudan\u00e7as clim\u00e1ticas, perturba\u00e7\u00f5es ecol\u00f3gicas e at\u00e9 transforma\u00e7\u00f5es culturais humanas.
