Em 1821, logo ap\u00f3s&nbsp;Oersted&nbsp;descobrir que a eletricidade e o magnetismo eram associados entre si, Faraday publicou um trabalho que chamou de &#8220;rota\u00e7\u00e3o eletromagn\u00e9tica&#8221;, elaborando os princ\u00edpios de funcionamento do&nbsp;motor el\u00e9trico.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> Em 1831, Faraday descobriu a&nbsp;indu\u00e7\u00e3o eletromagn\u00e9tica, o princ\u00edpio por tr\u00e1s do&nbsp;gerador el\u00e9trico&nbsp;e do&nbsp;transformador el\u00e9trico. Suas ideias sobre os&nbsp;campos el\u00e9tricos e os magn\u00e9ticos, e a natureza dos campos em geral, inspiraram trabalhos posteriores fundamentais nessa \u00e1rea, como as&nbsp;equa\u00e7\u00f5es de Maxwell. Seus estudos sobre campos eletromagn\u00e9ticos s\u00e3o conceitos-chave da f\u00edsica atual.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Na qu\u00edmica tamb\u00e9m teve grande import\u00e2ncia. Descobriu o benzeno, produziu os primeiros cloretos de carbono conhecidos (C2Cl6 e C2Cl4) e ajudou a expandir os fundamentos da metalurgia e da metalografia. As suas experi\u00eancias garantiram o sucesso na liquefa\u00e7\u00e3o de gases nunca antes liquefeitos (di\u00f3xido de carbono e cloro, entre outros).
