Todavia, desconhece-se ao certo quem empregou pela primeira vez o termo &#8220;epidemiologia&#8221;<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-family: 'courier new', courier, monospace; font-size: 24pt; color: #000000;\"><strong>Hist\u00f3ria da epidemiologia<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: 24pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\"><strong>O<\/strong><\/span><\/span>\u00a0m\u00e9dico grego Hip\u00f3crates, conhecido como o pai da medicina, buscou uma l\u00f3gica para a doen\u00e7a. Ele come\u00e7ou observando as taxas de mortalidade significativamente mais altas em duas \u00e1reas fornecidas pela Southwark Company.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Sua identifica\u00e7\u00e3o da bomba p\u00fablica de \u00e1gua de Broad Street como a origem da epidemia do Soho \u00e9 considerada o exemplo cl\u00e1ssico da epidemiologia. Ao desativar a bomba acabou com o surto.
