Brasilit\u00e9rio quer dizer \u201cmam\u00edfero do Brasil\u201d, enquanto o Brasilodonte tem dentes (odon) de mam\u00edfero e seus p\u00f3s-caninos, usados para triturar, formam quatro \u00e2ngulos retos. A maioria dos f\u00f3sseis encontrados s\u00e3o cr\u00e2nios completos ou parciais, com mand\u00edbulas e dentes preservados. Foram resgatados outros ossos, mas nenhum esqueleto inteiro. Em outras palavras, a linhagem do Brasilit\u00e9rio pode ter sido ancestral tanto de sin\u00e1psidos muito parecidos com mam\u00edferos quanto dos primeiros mam\u00edferos.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Por ora, os f\u00f3sseis do Brasilit\u00e9rio n\u00e3o parecem pass\u00edveis de an\u00e1lises t\u00e3o aprofundadas quanto os do Brasilodonte, e os pesquisadores n\u00e3o chegam a rotular os minicinodontes ga\u00fachos como pais de todos os mam\u00edferos.
