Encontrada em algumas esp\u00e9cies de animais, esse tipo de prote\u00edna est\u00e1 associado \u00e0 detec\u00e7\u00e3o de campos magn\u00e9ticos de baixa intensidade, como acontece no caso das aves migrat\u00f3rias que se valem desse mecanismo para orientar seus voos, tendo como refer\u00eancia o campo magn\u00e9tico terrestre.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> A pesquisadora tamb\u00e9m se aprofundou no estudo do spin, propriedade qu\u00e2ntica presente em part\u00edculas subat\u00f4micas, tais como pr\u00f3tons e el\u00e9trons, investigando como interagem com campos magn\u00e9ticos. Dois anos depois de ingressar, em 2000, no curso de gradua\u00e7\u00e3o em engenharia el\u00e9trica na Escola Polit\u00e9cnica da Universidade de S\u00e3o Paulo (Poli-USP), Aiello decidiu fazer um interc\u00e2mbio na \u00c9cole Polytechnique de Paris, na Fran\u00e7a, onde acabou migrando para a f\u00edsica. No mestrado, conclu\u00eddo em 2005 na Universidade de Cambridge, Inglaterra, Aiello investigou o processamento de informa\u00e7\u00f5es qu\u00e2nticas em cristais fot\u00f4nicos. J\u00e1 no doutorado, conclu\u00eddo em 2009 no MIT, estudou o controle de el\u00e9trons acoplados a spins.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Desde ent\u00e3o, a biologia qu\u00e2ntica segue sendo tema de suas pesquisas. Em qu\u00edmica, na Universidade da Calif\u00f3rnia, Estados Unidos, e em bioengenharia, na Universidade Stanford, quando investigou a biof\u00edsica de sensores vivos. \u201cA minha hip\u00f3tese \u00e9 que a natureza est\u00e1 cheia de microestrat\u00e9gias que podem nos ajudar a desenvolver tecnologias nas mais diversas \u00e1reas.
